Sippin’ on Some Weight-orade

0

Was on quite the hiatus but now I am back!

I have been extremely tired, unmotivated and just BLEH all day, every day. I need to do something. Exercise? Yeah, maybe. Eating better? Definitely. Both are a good start.

I was on Pinterest, aka the greatest site ever, looking for some alcoholic drinks for the weekend and I came across a pin about a weight-orade from Dr. Oz. I’m not one to be on fad diets or even to diet. I firmly believe in eating well and exercise is the right way to go if you want to lose weight and get fit. But something about this “weight-orade” was very intriguing. It is supposed to help boost your metabolism and apparently is a great addition to anyone’s diet, especially people who are over 30. Thanks Dr. Oz, like turning thirty wasn’t bad enough that you had to rub it in my face that my metabolism is shot and needs help!

So I of course scurried around Publix last night getting all the ingredients I need to make this stuff. For Christmas I got one of those Mr. Coffee Ice Tea makers, couldn’t wait to use that bad boy! So I whipped up a batch and let it sit in the fridge over night so all the flavors would meld together nicely and couldn’t wait to try it this morning! I even got my husband excited. Turns out it was delicious and refreshing. Been drinking it all morning….success! I have had a crazy amount of energy, although it might be the caffeine from the green tea its made with, but I feel great. Now the real test……….will it last! We shall see..

Here’s the recipe for all you guys out there that want to try it out too.

Dr. Oz’s Tangerine Weight-Orade

drink up.

  • Green Tea
  • Tangerines
  • Mint

Brew the green tea, I made a quart of tea and used 4 bags of green tea. Slice up 1-2 tangerines and wash a handful of mint. When the tea is ready, throw in the mint and tangerine slices, mix it all together and put it in the fridge for at least over night to get all the flavors to marry together. By morning it will be ready! Dr. Oz suggests drinking the entire pitcher in one day.

If you try it out, let me know how you like it!
