Floral Fail

Shopping gives me a sense of calmness. If I’m having a crappy day, I like to hit one or three of my favorite stores, just to check out what’s new. Well, a few weeks, I just wanted to get out of the house to avoid the afternoon set on of laziness that usually hits me around 3-ish. I didn’t want to spend the afternoon on the couch, bad enough I feel like a giant barrel of lard.

So I went snooping around LoveCulture trying to find some comfy leggings and blousy cute tops. I have noticed floral print is in, and since I can’t fit into normal skinny jeans, I found some cute leggings. I tried on a few pairs…..

Cute right? Especially with a comfy, long shirt to cover my giant belly. So I settled on a soft pair of black and floral leggings. The second I put them on, they were a pregnant girls dream pants: Stretchy, cute and actually FIT.

So I left that store feeling better than ever. Thinking “damn, I looked goooood in those pants”. It’s rare for me to be feeling anything thing close to that when putting on clothes lately, so there was no buyers remorse what so ever.

That is until I got home..

I don’t know if it was lack of sleep, lack of food or I was looking in a fun house mirror but when I got home and tried them on I looked like a flowery hot mess. The flowers that I fell in love with in the dressing room didn’t look like the cute little flowers that they did on the hanger. They look more like a freaking rose bush in Andre the Giant’s garden spread across my huge ass.

I didn’t take into consideration the amount of stretch these pants would endure with my widening hips and thighs.

So moral to the story: floral ain’t for me! These bitches are goin back!

Oh, and don’t believe everything you see in a dressing room mirror…..
