Homemade Fruity Ice Pops

0

As easy as it is to go to the store and buy those deliciously sugary ice pops, it’s just as easy to make them at home. I have noticed that when ever I give my 2 year old them, she bounces off the damn walls. I blame the red #40! So, in efforts to try and rid my little one of those nasty dyes, I decided to try making my own. I have a ton of fruit on the verge of going bad in the house – perfect reason to get freezing.

Here in Florida it’s still hot as all hell outside, so these make an awesome afternoon treat. They are so refreshing, I have to dive in and have some.

So here’s what you’ll need, it’s pretty simple:

  • Fresh Fruit
  • Juice (OJ, Pear, Grape, any fruit juice will do!)
  • Yogurt
  • Ice pop molds or Dixie cups with pop sticks
  • Blender of some sort

Take your fruit-get as creative as you like. I started with strawberries and orange juice. Throw all that in the blender (I used an immersion one) and let ‘er rip! You can even throw in some yogurt too. I like to make just plain yogurt pops. I made a second batch with pears, strawberries, pear juice and oj. SO GOOD! Pour the mixtures in your ice pop molds, pop them in the freezer and done! If you don’t have ice pop molds, no biggie. Grab some Dixie cups, pour, then cover with aluminum foil. Puncture an opening so the stick can fit on the top of the foil then put the stick in. Easy right?

Any combo of fruit will work, but I stuck with these because of my picky little eater.

I have a peach about to become shriveled in my fridge, might as well make another batch. Not like I have anything else to do…
