If you are in desperate need a date night, head to Max’s Harvest, off Atlantic Ave in Delray. This was one of the greatest meals we’ve had out in a long, long time! This laid back, chic restaurant prides itself on ‘farm to fork’ and using locally grown ingredients.

Max’s Harvest is situated off of busy Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, on 2nd Avenue. Easy walking distance from park garages, the avenue and other bars, shops and restaurants. We had reservations but got there early to sit at the bar and try out some of their signature cocktails. I sucked down a few of their fruit sangria’s and my husband stuck with a classic dirty martini. Both were awesome! The sangria was so refreshing and could be dangerous. I had two and man, they hit me like a ton of bricks! They go down very VERY easily, so be warned!

Thumbs up for alcohol!

The dining room consists of two areas – the front room, back room and there is outside dining available as well. We opted for the back room, it was very comfortable and romantic. Our server was top notch, explained the menu to us since it was our first time and gave us a bit of background to what Max’s Harvest stands for. We started with the Goat Cheese Croquettes with a red chili guava jelly and Deviled Heritage Hen Farm Eggs. The crunchy, creamy goat cheese balls balanced out the spicy jelly so well, we could have eaten 30 of them! The deviled eggs were exceptional! I never thought I’d be going to a restaurant and ordering deviled eggs, but damn were they good.

By by the time they brought our main courses, we were stuffed but rallied because these dishes were too good to box up to-go. Their main dish entrees along with the rest of the menus change from week to week depending on what is in season. My husband was told by friends to get Murray’s Brick Chicken and he was in a food coma after one succulent bite. Half of a roasted chicken, juicy and full of flavor paired with seasonal sides like a veggie and butternut squash hash atop farro. He could not.stop.eating this!

I went for a more heavier meal – Steak & Potatoes! It was heaven on a plate. Charred to perfection and topped with truffle butter (oh yeah, truffles baby) the steak just melted in my mouth. Accompanied by creamed Swiss chard, roasted potatoes and sweet organic baby carrots everything was so fresh and paired together wonderfully. Between all my sangria’s and those ahhhh-mazing apps, I could barely finish but I gave it one hell of a try! We couldn’t resist trying a side dish of Smoked Gouda & Pancetta Mac n’ Cheese.

Cheesy, pancetta-y delicious

Cheesy, pancetta-y delicious

I think if anything has pancetta in it needs to be in my belly and I don’t even have to tell you if it was good or not – cheese + pancetta = deliciousness on a plate.

So happy we spent our date night over at Max’s Harvest, we had the best time and the most delicious food, drinks and the company wasn’t bad either. Word on the street is that Max’s Harvest offers one of the best brunches every Sunday and offers up some unique menu items like omelets, eggs Benedict, and an interactive Bloody Mary bar & champagne cocktails. You had me at brunch. That is next on our list….
