S’mores. They have made quite the boom in the Pinterest world these past few months. The classic summer, camp fire treats have been filling every inch of my brain and I seriously have been dying to try every variation of them. If you follow me on Facebook, you would know just how deep the addiction and affinity is towards these ooey, gooey, marshmallow-y squares of goodness!
My cousins were in town and we decided to have a BBQ at the new place last minute. I was having a small panic attack because we NEEDED dessert and it was the one thing I forgot to pick up at the store. I quickly thought about my trusty, reliable Rice Krispie Treats – they always are a hit. Then I thought about taking them to the next level and turning them into S’mores.
Genius! Genius! Genius!
The S’mores Krispie Treats turned out freaking fantastic and are seriously the absolute perfect summer treat for a BBQ. These are a must-make that will have your friends & family wishing you made 3 batches!
S’mores Krispie Treats
- 1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies
- 1/2 bag Large Marshmallows
- 4 TBS Butter
- 1 Herseys Chocolate Bar
- 1 package Graham Crackers, crumbled
- Cooking spray
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir them till they are melted. Remove from heat.
Add Rice Krispies & Graham Cracker crumbles to the melted marshmallows, mix completely.
Spray a medium sized baking dish with cooking spray or coconut oil spray, then fill with the krispie/cracker/marshmallow mix. Cover and let cool.
In a microwave safe dish, break up the Hersey chocolate bar and melt for 1-2 minutes, checking and stirring every 30 seconds. Once the chocolate has melted, drizzle with a spoon over the S’mores Krispie Treats.
Cover or serve immediately! They will not last long, so be sure to save a few for yourself!
