We are on a serious Ranch kick at the Anti Mom Blog household. Since I’ve been whipping up my own spices, I have been going just a tad over board. I guess it could be worse, I could be obsessing over my new found hobby of designer bag buying. But none the less, everything is coming up ranch in here and the family has been responding quite well.
There are a few things that I can credit my husband for getting me to try: the T.V. show Friday Night Lights, cream cheese & strawberry jelly on a toasted bagel and dipping pizza crust in ranch dressing. Yes, it is true, I had serious loathing for ranch dressing and frankly, I have no idea why. Maybe it was just my stubborn Italian-ness, but I fought him tooth and nail on the ranch/pizza thing. It wasn’t until a few years ago when I happened to try it. Call it a drunken dare or just the drunken munchies, but that shit was the best thing I’ve ever tasted! It was then the love for ranch started growing and let’s be honest, the bottled stuff is full of nasty, preservative & additives.
We were planning on indulging on some yummy pizza and with no ranch in the house, I got a brilliant idea to make a healthier ranch dipping sauce.
Healthy Ranch Dipping Sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon Homemade Ranch Seasoning
- 1 container Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 teaspoon fresh Lemon juice
Combine ranch seasoning with Greek yogurt and lemon juice. Stir well and let it marry in the refridgerator until serving.
It is great with veggies, pizza crust, chips, buffalo wings-pretty much every and anything you want to dip, this ranch dipping sauce will make it a thousand times better.
