Epcot Food and Wine Festival Must Have Foods

Epcot Food and Wine Festival Must Have Foods

It is that time of year my friends, the freakin’ Epcot Food and Wine Festival! This has become an annual trip for my husband and I with our friends and we look forward to it all year long. Disney World is already the happiest place on earth, but add some bad ass foods, delicious wines, beers and spirits and it blows it out of the solar system. There have  been a few trips where I haven’t been able to make it all the way around the world in Epcot. It wasn’t pretty, and throwing up your guts in Morrocco’s fancy bathroom…

Homemade Ranch Dipping Sauce

Homemade Ranch Dipping Sauce

We are on a serious Ranch kick at the Anti Mom Blog household. Since I’ve been whipping up my own spices, I have been going just a tad over board. I guess it could be worse, I could be obsessing over my new found hobby of designer bag buying. But none the less, everything is coming up ranch in here and the family has been responding quite well. There are a few things that I can credit my husband for getting me to try: the T.V. show Friday Night Lights, cream cheese & strawberry jelly on a toasted bagel and dipping…

Homemade Ranch Seasoning

Homemade Ranch Seasoning

It’s time to ditch those store bought seasoning mixes and start making your own. Not only are they full of yucky, unhealthy additives, but by making them you can actually see what you are putting into what you cook. I’m sick of all these crazy ass additives that are put in those freakin’ packets, it’s just scary. I have recently started making my own seasonings and it has made some of my recipes actually 10x’s better. I’ve literally put this homemade ranch seasoning in pretty much everything -my turkey burgers, potatoes, dressings & dips. Even made a delicious slow cooker Ranch…

The Worst Halloween Treats

0

So I may be in my 30’s, with two small children, but I make no secret about the way I feel about Halloween. I freaking love this freaky fun holiday and if I could, I would celebrate it multiple times a year instead of just once. I love seeing all the crazy costumes, the adorable kids strutting their stuff, all the hard work some of these parents have done to decorate and create their own costumes and lets not forget about the pumpkins-love me a good jack-o-latern! There is one thing I do absolutely hate about Halloween, and it’s when you…

{Taco Tuesday} Turkey Lettuce Tacos

{Taco Tuesday} Turkey Lettuce Tacos

Tacos have been on my mind since I saw a recent rerun of Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives and Guy was chowing down on some killer tacos at some amazing little hole in the wall. I figured a Taco Tuesday was in order! We usually eat on the later side because my husband works till about 6:30 every night and then family time with the kids follow for an hour until their bed time. So dinner is usually after all of that madness. I didn’t want to feel bust-at-the-seams full, so I thought about switching up the usual flour &…

Quit Prilosec Cold Turkey!

2

Back in college, when I would drink 6 out of the 7 days a week, every morning after I’d wake up or before I ate for the day, I needed to take a Zantac. I really didn’t think much of it, I was young, stupid and hungover. I wanted something to kill the painful burning so I could continue with my day (and night!). After college, when I got a real job and got a tad wiser, I found Prilosec. I started taking that every morning and there would be no heart burn all day. It was awesome. I could eat…

Purex Crystals Aromatherapy Gives Laundry Energy!

1

The Purex brand provided me with a sample of Purex Crystals Aromatherapy in exchange for a product review. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own. Laundry. It’s safe to say we all have a love-hate relationship with this chore. I come from a long line of launders, who unlike myself, enjoy spending hours in their “office” (aka the laundry room) folding, ironing and spin-cycling. Growing up I never did laundry, heck, I didn’t even know how to turn the machine on! When I went off to college, my mom gave me a quick tutorial and sent me to the…

Halloween Books For Kids

0

Yes, I might be The Anti Mom Blog and hate most things like mom jeans, the word “guesstimate”, dark rum and annoying people but I do love books. More importantly, I love that my kids love books. I may not have time to sit around and flip through a good book as much as I’d like but I always have time to read to my girls. With Halloween being one of my favorite times of year, you bet your sweet ass that Halloween books are out by October 1st. I like to get my girls excited for Halloween just as much as…

When Vacations Stop Being Vacations

When Vacations Stop Being Vacations

How do you know when vacations stop being vacations? When you have kids. I think any parent can agree that the days of going on vacation are long gone. What I mean by ‘long gone’ is, instead of the leisurely days of sleeping in, sunbathing and adult beverage consumption, when you vacation with your kids, it’s just your every day life, picked up and moved to a different location. When ever I tell people we are taking the kids away, they always end with, “Have a great vacation!”. I smile, thank them and then die a little inside. I remember…
