Drunken Peaches Recipe

1

When I was a little girl, every peach season my dad would take the ones that were getting a little too ripe and soak them in wine. He would pile sliced peaches in a giant carafe then fill it with red wine. It was like a science project to me, as we waited and watch as the peaches began to turn maroon from sitting – for what seemed like an eternity – in the wine. As I got older and wiser, I realized these peaches were drunk! Typical Italians, right? Soaking some delicious fruit in even more delicious vino. It’s been…

The Ultimate Mom’s Night Out

0

Thanks to Mom, Baby & Beyond, South Florida Mom’s got to head to The Ultimate Mom’s Night Out for a fun night out away from the poopy diapers, homework, dirty dishes and piles of laundry to mingle with some brand name vendors, local businesses and sip on some wine with other moms. As I walked up to the Marriott in Heron Bay, I was greeted by some bumpin’ tunes blaring from family-friendly cars lined up from Coral Springs Auto Mall and fabulous shopping from The Trendy Truck (check them out on FB & Twitter, too!) So before you even walked in to the event, you could tell it was going…

Slow Cooker Cranberry Turkey Breast + Cran-OJ Gravy

0

Now that it’s fall, it’s officially crock pot/slow cookin’ season! WHOOHOO! (Even though it’s still a million degrees here in South Florida.) I kicked it off with this absolutely amazingly awesome Cranberry Turkey Breast. I have been DYING for turkey and couldn’t hold out until Thanksgiving. So Publix was having a sale on some turkey breasts and scooped one up. It actually was a half turkey breast, and surprisingly perfect for 2 people + a half pint. I highly recommend making this easy, warm and fuzzy feelin’ kind of dish. And yes, turkey in the crock pot makes one feel…

Homemade Fruity Ice Pops

0

As easy as it is to go to the store and buy those deliciously sugary ice pops, it’s just as easy to make them at home. I have noticed that when ever I give my 2 year old them, she bounces off the damn walls. I blame the red #40! So, in efforts to try and rid my little one of those nasty dyes, I decided to try making my own. I have a ton of fruit on the verge of going bad in the house – perfect reason to get freezing. Here in Florida it’s still hot as all…

Buffalo Chicken Bites

Buffalo Chicken Bites

There are a million and one different recipes you can create with a leftover rotisserie chicken. It’s not only easy to just roast your own but you can also drive to the store for one when you don’t feel like cooking. Bonus to one of these rosters, you can stretch it for 2-3 meals. This week while my husband is out of town on business, I decided to test out a new creation I saw on Pinterest: Buffalo Chicken Bites. I like to experiment when he’s not around, you know, in case of a complete Pinterest fail. (I know you all have…

Italian Style Stuffed Peppers

1

Normally, my stuffed peppers are on the healthier side with turkey meat and quinoa, but every time I make them, he always tells me about ‘the one time in college’ where he made the most delicious Italian-style stuffed peppers and how they are his favorite. I told him he is more than welcome to get in the kitchen and make them one night, but I have yet to see that. So I decided to appease him, put my own spin on it and try out these infamous stuffed peppers he won’t stop raving about. Italian Style Stuffed Peppers 1- 1…

iProblems: Part Deux

0

Normally I am pretty cautious with my cell phones. In 10+ years of owning them, I’ve only had two major issues and they all have happened in this past year. iProblem #1: water in my iPhone. I avoided any major damages by this simple rice trick. iProblem #2: My poor BRAND NEW iPhone. I think what makes this even worse is that I just received this beautiful new iPhone 5 in the mail not even 2 weeks ago and one stupid incident ruined it in a matter of seconds. Now comes the hard part – finding a place that has…
