The Analyzation of Mindless Television

0

Since being stuck indoors for the past 7 days with a sick baby, I’ve been watching a lot of TV. So from the lack of sleep in conjunction with the hours of mindless television, my brain is mush. But clearly there were some active brain cells still up in there last night when I was watching a re-run of “How I Met Your Mother”. It was the very first episode, surprisingly, one I have never seen. If anyone knows me they know I’m not one of those people that watch every show on every channel religiously. I have my favorites…

Soft Serve for Baby

0

I have a problem when it comes to bananas. I buy a bunch with all intentions of eating them asap. But that never seems to happen. I start off with great banana momentum but then I’m left with 2-3 spotty ones. I went through a super healthy eating phase back in my running days and remembered a soft serve concoction I saw on a blog once. Its the easiest and most delicious way to get rid of your nasty brown bananas. Since I make all the baby’s food myself, and most of my friends and family are still scratching their…

The Party’s Over.

0

You all warned me that this time would come. I didn’t want to believe it. I tried to trick myself that this would last for years, but it didn’t. Remember the most incredibly amazing, greatest baby jumping invention I so lovingly praised? Baby A is starting to become very bored of her jumper and I couldn’t be more upset! WTF am I going to do when I need some “me” time (me time = cleaning)??! She has been crawling for a few months, but now its all she wants to do. Crawl around and stand. Crawl some more, and stand…

10 Pregnancy Facts Every First-time Mom Should Hear

0

Since my daughter was an, ahem, accident/surprise and we weren’t mentally prepared, there were a lot of things we didn’t know about pregnancy.  People mostly focused on the “positive” stuff like telling me my boobs would get bigger, how I can eat anything I wanted or my hair and nails would grow. Fantastic. I even got lots of unsolicited “personal” stories about labor. Those were my favorite. Horror stories of 35 hour labors, emergency C-Sections – fully detailed. That’s exactly what you should do to a pregnant woman – tell her how horrendous your experience was. And after people would…

Mommy and Me

0

I have a confession. Until this morning I was a “Mommy & Me” virgin. I know I should go to these little groups, I know my lil girl would enjoy and benefit going, but I just never did. I went a whole 7 months without it but I caved. I don’t really have any “mom” friends. I have a couple but figured I should go out and try to make more. I had a few bad experiences with unsocial-clique-y moms but I put that and my paranoia of her getting sick from other babies aside and took an introductory class…

The Unexpected Baby

0

Some might refer to it as the “ooopsie” baby or “the accident”. In my house, we call it the “holy shit WTF happened” baby. 2 years ago my husband and I got engaged, bought a town house and were planning a wedding. It was an extremely stressful yet amazing time in our life. We had the most perfect wedding – everything was just the way we wanted it and all our guests had a blast. After the wedding, we spent 7 days in the Dominican Republic…7 rainy days. Just our luck. When we got back, we were so excited to…
