Disney World really IS the greatest place on earth.
As a Florida resident, we not only get to enjoy the beautiful beaches and tropical weather all the time, but Disney World is in driving distance. Even though I have only been a handful of times to the most magical place on earth since I moved here in ’97, its still nice to know I can go whenever I want to (and at a not-so discounted FL resident rate).
Every fall for about 2 months they put on the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. How can you not be intrigued. I mean its Disney World + food + wine = the best combination ever. What they do is set up food and adult beverage stands all around Epcot and since it is already divided into different countries, each has a sampling of their countries favorite and popular food specialties as you make your way around the world. Since my husband and I love to drink and eat, this is the perfect weekend getaway. Grant it, its still Disney and they love to suck you for all your worth, we are willing to splurge because its a freaking blast and a half.
We are planning on getting up there for a night of kid-free fun with some friends. We plan on getting a drink in every country and sampling all they have to offer. We went 2 years ago and drank way too much that I can’t even tell you what my favorite meal was. Ahh lovely. So keep an eye out next week for a recap of the adventure that is the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and all the drunken shenanigans we will be getting into!
