Je de Coup Clow

I just was watching the episode of ‘Friends’ where Joey tries to speak French. Hysterical.

Speaking of the French, I made French Toast today for breakfast.

I know, it totally goes together. Any who, the French Toast came out amazing due to the fact I added a little twist to it. I always wanted to make cereal crusted French Toast thanks to the food shows on T.V. Of course I was fresh out of Capt’n Crunch and decided to try it with Kelloggs Red Berry Cereal. I just used the flakes and left out the strawberries, but it actually turned out pretty damn awesome. My husband was jealous with my creation so I will most likely be making them again tomorrow for breakfast. If you want to impress your man, try these out. Its super easy and your kids will probably go nuts over them too!

Cereal Crusted French Toast

Le Burnt French Toast

Serving size: 2

  • 4 slices of bread
  • Crushed cereal (Capt’n Crunch, Corn Flakes, or like in my case Kelloggs Red Berry flakes)
  • 2 eggs
  • dash of cinnamon

Beat the eggs in a shallow dish with a dash of cinnamon. Take some cereal and crush it with either your hands or put it in a Ziploc bag and smash it with a wooden spoon. Put crushed cereal in another shallow dish that will be used for dipping.

Coat a medium sized pan with Pam or any other cooking spray. Heat the pan over medium heat.

Dip the bread in the egg mixture, then coat both sides with the crushed up cereal. Put the bread slices in the pan and brown. If the heat is too high, the cereal will burn. I know from experience.

Serve with syrup. I heated up some syrup and butter in the microwave for an extra treat.

Boom. Breakfast is served!
