I am on the case for finding the best cheap nail polish. I recently found Sinful Colors and absolutely LOVED it for the price and the quality. So when ever I see a polish for $1.99, I splurge and have to try. At a recent trip to CVS, I came across Wet n’ Wild’s Spoiled Nail Polish and thought I’d give it a whirl.
I picked a fun hot pinkish color that I thought would be prefect for summer – Plastic Flamingo. With a name like that how can you not buy it, right? And there’s nothing like a funky pink on your nails that screams summer is almost here. They had a decent amount of colors to choose at this CVS. Mostly darks, florescent, sparkly colors. I chose Pink. Trying to step outside my light colored box here.
I thought I’d start with the toes. Plus, I have been out by the pool almost everyday so my tan is perfect for a color like this.
Immediate Impressions:
LOVE the color. LOVE the bottle size for $1.99. LOVE the brush-it was flatter and a bit wider than your typical brush. Made for a great application.
HATE that I had to put 4 coats to get the color I wanted and get it to coat my entire nail. I usually just do 2 coats with any other polish but this one I had to keep going over so I wouldn’t see the nail and get the desired color. Absolutely annoying. Nothing more than I hate then multiple coats because you know what that leads too – bubbles, chipping and long dry times. Even on the smaller nails, I needed 4 coats! Huge downer for me.
So far I am on day 2 of the polish and it has stayed on quite nicely considering the tons of polish on my toes. I am going to give a few more days to see if there is any chipping.
Future Purchase – Yay or Nay?
I am thinking this is a pedicure kind of polish only. So Yay for the toes, Nay for the fingers. I can’t function with that much polish on my hands. With all the washing of hands, dishes and toddler I do, they wouldn’t last a day.
Now I’ll take my hot pink toes and continue the hunt for my next $1.99 polish.
Has anyone tried Wet n’ Wild’s Spoiled? What are your thoughts?
