Now that it’s fall, it’s officially crock pot/slow cookin’ season! WHOOHOO! (Even though it’s still a million degrees here in South Florida.) I kicked it off with this absolutely amazingly awesome Cranberry Turkey Breast. I have been DYING for turkey and couldn’t hold out until Thanksgiving. So Publix was having a sale on some turkey breasts and scooped one up. It actually was a half turkey breast, and surprisingly perfect for 2 people + a half pint. I highly recommend making this easy, warm and fuzzy feelin’ kind of dish. And yes, turkey in the crock pot makes one feel warm and fuzzy. Every time.
Slow Cooker Cranberry Turkey Breast with Cran-OJ Gravy
- 1 Turkey Breast (or half a turkey breast)
- 1 Can Whole Cranberry Sauce
- 1 Packet Onion Soup mix
- 1/2 Cup Orange Juice
Cran-OJ Gravy
- 1 Cup of Drippings
- 1/2 cup Orange Juice
- 1 TBS Corn Starch
In a mixing bowl, combine cranberry sauce, orange juice and onion soup packet. Mix well!
Spray slow cooker with cooking spray and place the turkey breast in there. Pour the cranberry-onion soup-oj mixture in the slow cooker. Set the time to 8 hours and you are good to go! My slow cooker has a high and low setting…I cooked our 1/2 turkey breast on high for 6 hours and it came out delicious!
Now for the gravy:
Take a cup of the juice in the slow cooker and place in a sauce pan on medium high heat. Bring to a slow boil and add 1/2 cup of orange juice. Next, add your tablespoon of corn starch to thicken it up, use a whisk and stir till combine. Lower the heat to low, and continue to cook for a few more minutes.
Eat up!!
