When life hands you BOGO chocolate chip cookies, make a butt load of desserts!
My husband fell victim to Publix’s Buy One Get One Free chocolate chip cookies, so we now have 2 dozen soft, delicious, chocolately cookies that call my name all hours of the day. I wanted to kiss him and punch him all at the same time for doing this! So to keep these tasty treats from growing hair on them or having my toddler sneak cookies and go bouncing off the walls till there gone, I thought of 4 easy chocolate chip cookie dessert recipes you will love. All are kid friendly, and all are delicious. Bet part about it is you can get as creative as you want with them! My taste tester can vouch for that.
Caramel Apple Cookie Nachos
- Apples, cored and sliced, Granny Smith & Fuji (or any kind you like!)
- Marzetti Carmel Dip
- 1-2 Chocolate Chip Cookie, crumbled
Cut, slice and arrange apples on plate. Heat the caramel dip for about 10 seconds in microwave and drizzle over the apples. Add cookie crumbles over the apples and caramel. I even crumbled some leftover Rice Krispies Treats I had made for an extra sweet crunch.
Cookie Pizza
- Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 scoop Ice Cream, any flavor
- Toppings – Chocolate Sauce, Cookie Crumbs, Sprinkles, your choice!
This is great for kids to help with. Take one scoop of ice cream and smear it on top of one of the cookies as the “sauce”. Then start topping with whatever you’d like!
Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich
- 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 scoop Ice Cream
This is my favorite! Take one of the cookies and add a scoop of ice cream to it. Then place the other cookie right on top to make a sandwich. No brainer and so so delicious!
Cookie Crunch Ice Cream
- 2 – 4 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
- Bowl
- Cookie Crumbles
- Rice Krispie Treat Crumbles (optional)
Add ice cream, cookies and other toppings you desire to the bowl. Mix everything together, kind of like a Cold Stone creation. Cover bowl and place in freezer for 30 minutes. Scoop out and serve! Garnish with half a cookie and other toppings.
I love trying to spruce up desserts, since it is one of my favorite meals. Plus, I don’t feel as guilty for helping eat 2 dozen cookies. Let the pig out commence!
