We be dippin’. Greek dippin’.
Since neither of our families teams are in the Super Bowl this year, it is just another Sunday Funday for us. Of course we will still watch, we will still party, and we will still eat like champions! Although this year I am a little more excited about another bowl – the Delicious Bowl. That’s right, Chobani is having a Delicious Bowl showdown of the best, healthiest and most delicious dips their fans have to offer up for this years Super Bowl, starring Chobani as the main ingredient. Chobani wants us all to put down the phones, tablets, computers, games and have some good old fashion family fun this Super Bowl. Chobani is making the bold statement, “We’re eating, not tweeting”. They are encouraging fans to spend the day with their friends and family, enjoying the game and some delicious eats. Nothing but eating, talking, drinking (ok, that’s all me!) and just being together, that’s what it’s all about!
Chobani is all about promoting healthy eating, so be sure to check out some of the Delicious Bowl contenders. I decided to whip up one of my own dips for the Delicious Bowl – The Greek Dip. Best way to describe this bad boy: Spanikopita meets Tzatziki. Lemony, spinachy, cucumbery, Greek-yogurty goodness. Scoop it up with some whole wheat pita chips and fresh veggies.
The Greek Dip
- 4 containers Chobani Greek Plain Yogurt
- 1 Bag Baby Spinach
- 1 Lemon, juiced
- 1/2 TBS Lemon zest
- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese
- 2 TBS Parmesan Cheese
- 2 TBS Grated Cucumber with juice
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Whole Wheat Herb Pita Chips
- Cucumber Slices
- Bell Pepper Slices
- Carrots
Steam spinach in about 2 tablespoons of water and a sqeeze of lemon juice. Strain and let cool. Once cooled, chop spinach finely.
In a large bowl, combine Chobani yogurt, 1-2 tablespoon lemon juice, lemon zest, feta, parmesan, cucumber and spinach. Mix well and taste. You may need to add some more salt and pepper and lemon. Adjust accordingly.
Whole Wheat Herb Pita Chips:
- 1 package Whole Wheat Pita (4 pita rounds)
- Olive Oil
- Oregano
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut pita rounds into triangle pieces and arrange on a baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix olive oil and oregano. Brush oil and herb mixture onto the pieces and bake for 10 minute or until the pita chips become golden brown. Let cool and serve!
Display with fresh veggies and pita chips.
Here’s to eating and not tweeting, everyone!
