You may be thinking, what the heck is tea tree oil? For a few weeks now I have had my eye on this extremely resourceful essential oil. There has been buzz going around how essential oils can help us with natural cures and uses. So, I was pretty excited when asked to review Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil. Dating back to the aboriginals in Australia, tea tree oil has been used as a catch all medicine and to heal ailments. With essential oils becoming a household name, tea tree oil is becoming popular once again. Back in the day, it’s leaves and flowers were used to help heal wounds and ailments, but now with extraction becoming widely popular, the oil can be used for medicinal purposes, beauty and cleansing.
I have been using Tea Tree for the past few weeks and I am totally in awe of what this simple oil can do. Seriously, the possibilities seem endless and all are beneficial to my family and myself. From helping with psoriasis and dandruff to cleaning and beauty products. All natural, all non-toxic and full of healing powers. 5 Tea Tree Oil Uses
1. Tea Tree Oil Diffuser
- 1 TBS Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil
- 1 TBS Lavender Essential Oil
- Water
- Bamboo diffuser sticks
- Jar or container
Mix all ingredients then pour into a diffuser holder or bowl. Place bamboo sticks in, allow them to absorb some of the liquid. Flip the sticks over and place back into bowl. Place in living area, away from kids.
2. Tea Tree Oil Exfoliator
- 1 cup pure coconut butter
- 10 Drops Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil
- 1/2 cup Whole Raw Almonds
Place almonds in a food processor and pulse about 5 to 8 times, until there are tiny pieces remaining but not until you have a fine powder of milk. Add almonds to coconut butter and tea tree oil until blended.
To apply, simply rub scrub onto face and body in a circular motion. Rinse off with warm water and pat skin dry.
3. Fortifying Citrus Foot Scrub
- 1/2 cup Medium-coarse Sea Salt
- 1/4 Cup Coconut Oil
- 5-10 drops Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Lime Zest
- 1/2 teaspoon Grapefruit Zest
- Large jar with lid
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 10 drops of Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil
- Glass jar with lid
Mix canola oil and tea tree oil in the glass jar. Make sure lid is on tight the shake till blended.
To use makeup remover, saturate a cotton swab or ball with oil and sweep over to remove makeup. Rinse with warm water.
5. Topical Tea Tree Oil Treatment
- 10-15 drops Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil
- 1 TBS Coconut Oil
- Plastic or glass container
- Q-tips or cotton swabs
Melt coconut oil till it becomes liquid and remove from heat. Add tea tree oil and put in container for storing.
Use a cotton ball, q-tip or your fingertips to apply to affected areas. This will help treat acne, toenail fungus, sciatica pain, rheumatism, psoriasis, gout, jock itch, yeast infections, corns and bunions. This blend could also be used for massages.
