Buying a microfiber couch was probably one of the smartest things my husband and I did when we moved into our house 5 years ago. This was well before we were even thinking about kids, so high-5 to us make such a conscience and adult like decisions! Truth be told, I just liked the color and style of the couch, could have cared less what the fabric it was!
Fast forwad 5 years and 2 kids later, that couch has had pretty much everything you could think of spilled on it. So when my 1 year old decided that the couch was her canvas and the ball point pen her choice of paint, I wanted crawl in the fetal position and cry. But she didn’t stop at one cushion, she made sure she expressed every ounce of creativity she had on each and every one! After peeling myself off the floor, I headed straight to Google and low and behold I found my saving grace! Reading those words “you can clean pen off microfiber” truly took me off of the ledge because, there was no way my husband was going to live with toddler art all over our couch cushions. Last thing I needed was to hear his nagging on top everything else. (YES, that is something he would nag me about!)
Here is what you will need to clean pen off microfiber:
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Cotton Balls
- Paper Towel
Yup, that is it! Along with some elbow grease and maybe a glass of wine to get the edge off, your couch will be back to normal. Another great thing about microfiber, it can go right in the wash! Throw those cushion covers in washing machine using cold water, hang to dry and they will be looking brand-spankin-new!
