Have you ever been stuck in a rut and didn’t know if you could find a way out? Yep, that has been me. Totally exhausted, hating everything about myself, you know, the “self-loathing-whoa-is-me” whole nine yards. With suggestion and motivation from my blogging friend Mandi (check out her blog here, she rocks!), I decided to try 21 Day Fix. If you are seriously looking to change the way you think and look at food and exercise – this is the program for you! Already into my second round, and I feel like a whole different person.
Since my life revolves around food, I was scared I was going to hate the meal plan. WRONG. My culinary wheels have started turning and I have been scheming up some recipes that are all 21 Day Fix approved! My first meal: Avocado Turkey Burgers. This is probably one of the most flavorful and filling meals I’ve had in a while. All while following the 21 Day Fix meal plan.
Avocado Turkey Burgers
- Ground Turkey Meat
- 1 TBS 21 Day Fix All Purpose Seasoning (Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Thyme, Mustard Powder, Pepper & Sea Salt)
- 1 cup Sweet Peppers, minced
- 1 Shallot, minced
- 2 TBS Cilantro, chopped
- 1 Avocado
In a mixing bowl, combine turkey meat, seasoning and sweet peppers. Form patties and place on the grill. I ended up with 4 patties. Cook till the internal temperature is 165 degrees. If it’s not grilling weather out or you don’t have one, these taste just as amazing on a grill top pan or griddle.
Top each patty with 3-4 slices of avocado and enjoy! I like to make some homemade sweet potato fries with these and a side salad.
It is so filling and delicious, you would never know this was clean, healthy eating. Best part about these avocado turkey burgers, you can get as creative as you’d want, like use ground chicken and make chicken patty burgers as well! Livin’ on the edge, baby. If you are doing the 21 Day Fix, 1 burger is only 1 Red, 1/4 Green & 1 Blue.
