Spicy Onions Perfect for BBQs!

Spicy Onions Perfect for BBQs!

BBQ season is officially upon us and what summer wouldn’t be complete without a great new recipe to try out on your friends and family. Every BBQ my family has had while growing up was over the top. I mean, tons of food from steaks, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, sausage – you name it, it was probably grilled and served up! Not only did we stuff our selves beyond content, it usually rained. But it never stopped the fun or the flow of alcohol! My mom has a few staples that she makes that give our BBQs an edge, like these Spicy…

30-Minute Chicken Sausage with Apples & Onions

30-Minute Chicken Sausage with Apples & Onions

I am all about the easy dinners so anything I can make in 30 minutes or less is a win for me. About a year ago, I was going out one night and decided to be a nice, little wifey and cook my husband dinner before I went out. I know, I know, ‘Wife of the Year’. I found chicken sausage with apples and cooked them up with some apples and onions. I was getting texts all night from him saying how great it was and he still talks about it a year later. So, after many months of…

Restaurant Remake: P.F. Chang’s Lettuce Wraps

0

Who doesn’t like P.F. Chang’s? That shit is loaded with calories for a reason, it’s so damn good! Even though the menu has gone through some changes over the years, one thing still remains delicious as ever: the Lettuce Wraps. (que heavenly angels singing in unison) Since my dining out on random nights is few and far between, I try to recreate some of my favorite meals at home. Some might end up the garbage – OK most end up in the garbage – but there is a very small percentage that I do knock out of the park…

Balsamic Glazed Baby Portobellos

0

We have finally been going out on date nights and a few weeks we hit up Trulucks for their all you can eat stone crabs. I was quite disappointed in my final total, but marveled at our friends who took down 23 legs a piece. Believe it or not, one of the most delicious things about that meal was one of the side dishes…balsamic glazed baby bellos. Drooling just thinking about them. My husband and I were talking about them for days when we both agreed we could totally make them ourselves. Challenge accepted. Better-Than-Trulucks Balsamic Glazed Baby Portobellos Mushrooms…

Slow Cooker Cranberry Turkey Breast + Cran-OJ Gravy

0

Now that it’s fall, it’s officially crock pot/slow cookin’ season! WHOOHOO! (Even though it’s still a million degrees here in South Florida.) I kicked it off with this absolutely amazingly awesome Cranberry Turkey Breast. I have been DYING for turkey and couldn’t hold out until Thanksgiving. So Publix was having a sale on some turkey breasts and scooped one up. It actually was a half turkey breast, and surprisingly perfect for 2 people + a half pint. I highly recommend making this easy, warm and fuzzy feelin’ kind of dish. And yes, turkey in the crock pot makes one feel…

Creamless Summer Corn Chowder

Creamless Summer Corn Chowder

I love summer soups, and corn chowder is definitely one of those! I was inspired years ago when I was working and would frequent Panera for my lunch breaks. They make a kick ass corn chowder that would only make an appearance during the summer months and I scoured the internet to find one that would taste just as good and I didn’t have to spend $5 on it every time I wanted some. Back then I was on a healthy kick, so I came across a cream-less version and it’s pretty damn awesome! Light, crispy and packed full of…

Meatless Friday’s: Peach Cobbler

1

I have had the worst cravings for peach cobbler this past week. The funny thing is I’ve never even had peach cobbler before in my life! Sure, I could have easily gone to Publix and buy it frozen, but its not just not the same as homemade. I wanted authentic, southern-style peach cobbler because it looks so damn delicious on T.V. or in pics. I of course went to good old trusty-reliable Pinterest and hit the jackpot! I found probably the easiest and most delicious homemade recipe for peach cobbler. Since I have nothing to reference it by, this is…

Trader Joe’s Hidden Jewel

0

I am late to jump on the Trader Joe’s bandwagon, but I fully blame that on Trader Joe himself, because the closest one to our house is over 2 hours away. Luckily that is changing in the near future to only 40 minutes away – and I couldn’t be more excited. Until then, who ever is near one will help out this preggo and bring back my favorite item…the hidden jewel of all the delicious products under the Trader Joe’s roof: Milk Chocolate Covered Toffee Popcorn. Should I say it again? Milk Chocolate. Toffee. Popcorn. I can’t even begin to…
