Chocolatey Bouquet For Valentine’s Day

0

If you are a procrastinator like I am, you waited till the very last minutes to do something sweet for your loved one. Well don’t worry, I have a quick gift idea to wow your Valentine….and all you need is about $7, 25 minutes, a trip to your grocery store and a microwave. My valentine complains he needs to eat “healthy”, so I had to throw my cookie idea out the window. Instead – chocolate covered strawberries! Hey-they are healthy, especially if you use dark chocolate! So here’s what you’ll need: At the grocery store, they sell dipping chocolate that…

Super Bowl Extravaganza

0

It’s the start of Suu-Suuuu-Suuuuper Bowl weekend baby! And my Giants are in it……again! That’s what I’m talkin’ bout! There is only one way to watch this game, and it’s with a party. A massive one at that. I love a good party, sometimes they can be a pain in the ass to throw because, lets be honest, cleaning up all that shit suuuuucks! But when its all said and done, I really do have a great time hosting shindigs. Parties should always have 3 great things: great food, great drinks and a great crowd. If you have that, then…

Slow Cookers Anonymous?

0

My slow cooker addiction has yet to cease. Now family members know about my problem and are emailing me recipes. Enablers! Enablers! So naturally I HAVE to make them all. First on the list were Tangy Asian Meatballs from myrecipes.com. They looked easy enough and they were Asian. I could eat Asian dishes every.single.day. My husband, not so much. But surprisingly he inhaled these balls like nobody’s business. And I think he even licked the bowl…again. Tangy Asian Meatballs 1 lb ground pork 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs 3 scallions, white and light green parts only – chopped 1 large…

The Absolute Best, Lick-Your-Bowl-Clean Chili

0

For Christmas, Santa brought me a slow cooker. WHY AM I JUST GETTING ONE NOW?!!?!?!??!?! I seriously am the last person on earth to get this memo. And I can’t understand why no one has told me sooner about the splendor that is El Crock Pot. It is probably the greatest appliance of all time-and I love my appliances. I can honestly say its better than the KitchenAid, immersion blender and food processor combined. Who ever invented this magical machine should have a golden statue erect of themselves so crazy bitches like myself can praise it every day. It has…

Thirsty Thursday – New Years Edition

0

Although still extremely hung over from New Years, I had to find ways to get rid of the 4 Asti bottles I have left over in my fridge. I came across the ‘Old Capri Long Drink’ on yummly.com. It must be my Italian blood that was drawn to this but anything that has Asti Spumante AND Limoncello as its main ingredients is a winner in my book. Old Capri Long Drink 2 oz Limoncello Asti Spumante Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour Limoncello over ice then fill the rest of the glass with the Asti Spumante. Garnish with a…

Soft Serve for Baby

0

I have a problem when it comes to bananas. I buy a bunch with all intentions of eating them asap. But that never seems to happen. I start off with great banana momentum but then I’m left with 2-3 spotty ones. I went through a super healthy eating phase back in my running days and remembered a soft serve concoction I saw on a blog once. Its the easiest and most delicious way to get rid of your nasty brown bananas. Since I make all the baby’s food myself, and most of my friends and family are still scratching their…

Leftover Madness

0

On Friday I attempted a new recipe for pan seared chicken with a lemon, butter and wine sauce and had a huge epic dinner fail. The sauce smelt delicious but tasted like burnt crap. We barely finished, luckily I made a shit load of thin spaghetti as a side. Any who, I had a decent amount left over. Yesterday we (mostly me) were hung-ovahhh from going to the Casino for a friends birthday. Patron es no bueno. No.Bueno. We pigged out on greasy burgers for a late lunch, so for dinner I wanted something a little bit lighter. My nanny…

Braise it Baby!

0

I’ve been on a braising kick lately. Maybe because I finally used my braising pan and realized it is the shit or maybe because its so damn easy to just thrown stuff in a pan and let it go for 30-45 minutes. Especially with a crazy-insane,mobile infant. So the other night when I was stumped on the whole dinner thing, I looked in the pantry pulled out some ingredients and took to the braising pan and came out with a delicious meal. I felt like I was on Chopped. Boom! Braised Balsamic Chicken – serves 2 2 bone-in Chicken Breasts…

Monday Bites.

0

After a long weekend of partying, I have come to realize I’m getting old. We went to an amazing wedding in NY and partied the night away. Now I am exhausted, my feet are killing me, my knees and ankles are sore and I can barely keep my eyes open. WTF happened to me!?? Monday’s bite. On that note, I made a kick ass meal the night before we left. If you like cilantro and lime you will like this! It was really easy and I made it with in no time. Plus it helped me get rid of both….

Thirsty Thursday – Dirttty Edition

0

I would like to pay homage to one of the tastiest and classiest of martinis this week: The Dirty Martini. Possibly my favorite of all the martini’s out there. One of my first experiences wtih this lucious drink was back almost 6 years ago at Blue Martini. As soon as the salty mix touched my lips I was hooked. What made this drink what it is was the garnish of olives. They weren’t your normal Spanish olives. They were stuffed with..wait for it…blue cheese. Indulge yourself..I beg of you. Classic Vodka Dirttty Martini with Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives Makes 2…
