A Plea To Nickelodeon

0

For the love of God, Nickelodeon! Where are the ‘Bubble Guppies’ merchandise?! It has been over a year that my lil girl has been obsessed with these mermaid people. She gets into what I call the “Bubble Guppies Trance”. As soon as she hears the ever intoxicating theme song begin, she takes her place in front of the T.V. for the entire 20-something minutes its on with a glazed look over her face and does not move. Well, until they start singing a song she likes and begins to dance. She’s cool like that. Some of you might remember my open…

Sandals Roundup: Steve Madden Edition

0

I wear sandals every day of the week. I have no shame. Finding a good pair of flats is actually kind of difficult. Some of the styles can get pretty crazy. I am just looking for comfort, color and diversity. Wedges are hot and also my newest obsession. I can’t get too crazy with them because 1. I’ll never wear them as much as I think I would and 2. I’ll be 8 feet tall. But I do splurge on occasion and Steve Madden has some adorable styles that are perfect – and  guess what – on sale. I adore…

Twinsanity!!

0

Everything is in doubles today! In honor of my sister who gave birth to a set of twin girls Monday, I felt we could use some fun and freaky-weird twin facts to welcome them into our crazy family! Fraternal twins are hereditary. Identical are not. There is a “twin gene” that is passed on by the parents. Thanks mom and dad, for now I am scared shit that you have passed it along to me! Twins can have different dads. Talk about baby daddy drama! Twins usually make there own secret language. Chances of having twins increase as you…

Praise Thee Single Parent

0

I have been blessed to have family living extremely close to me. If I need any help with my lil kiddo, I have my parents 10 minutes South of us, my mother-in-law 10 minutes North, scattered relatives all over Broward/Dade area and a very involved and hands-on husband. If I ever need a hour to myself or we want to have a date night-they are there. Except this weekend. My husband was out of town on a guys trip, my mother-in-law is summering upstate New York, and my mother jetted off to help my very pregnant-with-twins sister. So I was…

Hot Tops: Express Edition

0

Looking for a great top for a night out with your man or are you looking to just spice up that summertime wardrobe? I always am looking for a cute top to wear with either jeans or shorts that I can dress up or down depending on my plans. It can’t be too fancy, the last thing I want is for the kiddo to ruin it and of course it can’t be too blah, because, well, I gots to look good! ;-D I love Express for their flattering cuts, great fabrics and edgy looks. I can really add great pieces…

Easy Shrimp Scampi

0

While visiting my very pregnant sister, I felt bad letting her do any work what so ever. I tried to do everything I could to give her a break while I was there. I remember being pregnant and how much I hated every second of it…the swollen feet, not being able to shave my legs or even seeing my feet for that matter and the utter exhaustion that never seemed to leave. There were more, but I’ll spare you guys a pity party. Well, to get where she is just add twins + a 15 month old toddler to the…

Makeup 101 with MAC

0

Lets face it, you are never too old for a makeup 101 session. As a pre-teen, I never knew how to apply make-up. I would steal my moms, watch her and try to copy. I looked like a hot mess! Random colors blended together, poking myself in the eye with the damn mascara wand and don’t even get me started on blush. Talk about clown face. I guess it was pretty evident had no coordination in the beauty department, so before I went into High School, as a Christmas gift,  my cousins gave me a gift certificate to MAC to…

WTF Nickelodeon

0

If my daughter is in one of her “moods” (like she is at this very moment) and I’ve tried EVERYTHING to talk her down from the bratty ledge that shes on, there is usually only one thing that will ultimately work – “The Bubble Guppies”. If you are not familiar with these little guppies, its a show on Nickelodeon or Nick Jr (I’m still trying to figure out all these channels) and it has saved my sanity on many of occasions. It follows the adventures of 6 little merbabies/guppies – not entirely sure what they are but she absolutely LOVES…

When To Start Swim Lessons

0

Now that my 10-month old is walking like a pro, I thought about getting her involved in some outdoor activities. High on my list is swimming classes. Living in South Florida, its pretty much beach and pool weather all year round, but you can find me there mostly in the spring and summer-that’s when the water isn’t freezing. Well, freezing to a Floridians standard that is. Beyond the fact that we can live in our swim suits all year round, most houses have pools in their back yard. We don’t, but pretty much everyone else in the state does. It…

It’s a Walkoff.

0

Baby A has officially become a walker. F$#&ing S@#$. Mother F$%#er. I thought babies were supposed to start this crap after they turned 1. Not at 10 freaking months old! She is terrorizing the entire house and running me ragged. I gotta admit, she looks so damn cute waddling around with her hands in the air. Ha! So to all you mahhhms out there that are probably laughing and pointing, knowing what lies ahead for me with this mobile beast, any advice? Any warnings? Any words of wisdom?? ANYTHING?!!!!? – Amanda
