Anne Burrell is Awesome.

0

My husband and I are addicted to pretty much every show on Food Network. And HGTV. Our favorite chefs at the moment are Anne Burrell and Robert Irvine. Thanks to ‘The Next Iron Chef’, Jeff Zakarian is creeping up there too. Any who, last weekend we were watching ‘Secrets of a Restaurant Chef’ hosted by Anne Burrell and she was making a braised chicken dish that just looked absolutely incredible. So we had a bright idea of attempting to make it for dinner that night. It looked complicated but between the two of us it turned out to be so…

Saturday Night Rant

0

You know what really grinds my gears? Those stupid security code word scrambled things. You know those things whenever you forget your password to gmail or try to leave a blog comment or you are trying to buy tickets on Ticketmaster? Those annoying scrambled letters that try to tell if you are a robot or human. They are called CAPTCHAs. It stands for ‘Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart’.   Yeah. Those things. I hate them with a passion. I get that they are supposed to help with spam and what not, but C’MON! Sometimes…

Winter Jacket? What’s That?

0

I am very fortunate to be living in the tropical weather all year round. Florida is awesome. Yeah sure, there is no such thing as season changes down here and it gets hot as hell during the summer but who really cares, that’s why we have the beach, pool and palm trees to distract us. I’ve lived here for 15 years and do not plan on leaving. I grew up in the north and experienced the crappy ass winters and snow. Shits fun to visit but I prefer year-round bathing suit weather. Since I have been transplanted down here and…

Thirsty Thursdays

0

Wine and Vodka are my drinks of choice. Sometimes I get bored with my pinot grigio and like to spice things up. I usually mix it up by making white sangria. Crazy, I know. You can get so creative with sangria and use what ever fruit is in season. In the summer time, I like to cut up plums, nectarines, and peaches and mix that in with raspberries and blackberries. Shit is delicious!! With the fall season in full effect, I made a delicious Fall Sangria. Try it out this weekend! Fall Sangria 1 bottle White Wine (I use Pinot…

The Unexpected Baby

0

Some might refer to it as the “ooopsie” baby or “the accident”. In my house, we call it the “holy shit WTF happened” baby. 2 years ago my husband and I got engaged, bought a town house and were planning a wedding. It was an extremely stressful yet amazing time in our life. We had the most perfect wedding – everything was just the way we wanted it and all our guests had a blast. After the wedding, we spent 7 days in the Dominican Republic…7 rainy days. Just our luck. When we got back, we were so excited to…

Je de Coup Clow

I just was watching the episode of ‘Friends’ where Joey tries to speak French. Hysterical. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqwzvtjeYBQ] Speaking of the French, I made French Toast today for breakfast. I know, it totally goes together. Any who, the French Toast came out amazing due to the fact I added a little twist to it. I always wanted to make cereal crusted French Toast thanks to the food shows on T.V. Of course I was fresh out of Capt’n Crunch and decided to try it with Kelloggs Red Berry Cereal. I just used the flakes and left out the strawberries, but it actually…

Day Light Savings SUCKS!

0

Seeing as this is my first Day Light Savings with child, I didn’t realize what went along with it. Before child, Day Light Savings meant an extra hour at the bars. Our nights were extended and we were allotted one more hour of drinking. We lived for this. After child, its like we had to become mad scientist but more strategic. We had to figure out a plan on how to make her sleep the entire night and not wake up at some random hour, ie: before 6 am. My husband and I have been spoiled with an amazing infant…

Damn Good Pot Pie

0

I was flying solo last night for dinner so I picked up a rotisserie chicken from Publix. Those things are the shit. They are usually my go-to meal when I don’t feel like cooking. Now I have more than half of a chicken left over in my fridge – which turns out to be the perfect amount for a bangin’ chicken pot pie. I got this recipe from my mama – it’s such a no brainer and sooooo freaking delicious. Last time I made it, my husband and I pretty much finished the entire thing in one sitting. We are…

My Messy Moment

0

When I saw this ‘Messy Moment’ opportunity on the SITS Girls website, I had to share my own story. Till this day, my messy moment with my sister still cracks me up whenever I think of it. Coincidentally, my sister and I were pregnant at the exact same time. Our due dates were 5 weeks apart – I don’t think we could have planned it better if we tried. Isn’t it every sisters/best friends dream to be pregnant at the same time? I have to say, it really was a lot of fun, especially for me. Knowing someone else close…
