AntiMom’s Tip#1 – Never Wash Disposable Diapers. EVER! If you end up in the same situation I was in the other night, where you are exhausted from going to the beach and spending the entire weekend in the hot sun and ready to collapse after you do just 1 load of laundry but then you realize as you empty the clothes from the washer to the dryer, that you have washed one of your child’s disposable diapers in with all the clothes. You want to cry, scream, punch a wall and/or slowly walk away and shut the door…

WTF Nickelodeon
0If my daughter is in one of her “moods” (like she is at this very moment) and I’ve tried EVERYTHING to talk her down from the bratty ledge that shes on, there is usually only one thing that will ultimately work – “The Bubble Guppies”. If you are not familiar with these little guppies, its a show on Nickelodeon or Nick Jr (I’m still trying to figure out all these channels) and it has saved my sanity on many of occasions. It follows the adventures of 6 little merbabies/guppies – not entirely sure what they are but she absolutely LOVES…
Memorable 1st Birthday Gift Ideas
0I am bashing my head against a wall trying to figure out what to get my niece and daughter for their 1st birthdays. They are 5 weeks apart and I’m sorry, but clothes and little toys will just not cut it for this special milestone. I wanted to get them both something special, fun and meaningful. Something that they will get some use out of for a while and not grow out of it in a few weeks or be bored of in a few hours. Here’s what I have come up with so far: 1. Table & Chairs Set:…
When To Start Swim Lessons
0Now that my 10-month old is walking like a pro, I thought about getting her involved in some outdoor activities. High on my list is swimming classes. Living in South Florida, its pretty much beach and pool weather all year round, but you can find me there mostly in the spring and summer-that’s when the water isn’t freezing. Well, freezing to a Floridians standard that is. Beyond the fact that we can live in our swim suits all year round, most houses have pools in their back yard. We don’t, but pretty much everyone else in the state does. It…
It’s a Walkoff.
0Baby A has officially become a walker. F$#&ing S@#$. Mother F$%#er. I thought babies were supposed to start this crap after they turned 1. Not at 10 freaking months old! She is terrorizing the entire house and running me ragged. I gotta admit, she looks so damn cute waddling around with her hands in the air. Ha! So to all you mahhhms out there that are probably laughing and pointing, knowing what lies ahead for me with this mobile beast, any advice? Any warnings? Any words of wisdom?? ANYTHING?!!!!? – Amanda
Review: KidCo ChildProofing Cabinet Locks
0As promised, here is my review for my baby hell aka childproofing. It took me over a week to put everything up. Yes, a week. I’m lazy and it took me quite some time to figure out those damn things up. Overview I ended up purchasing KidCo Secure Stick Adhesive Mount Locks at BuyBuyBaby. I had to buy the starter pack, which came with 2 locks and a magnet. Then purchase 2 additional packs of 4 to lock every cabinet. They came with adhesives already attached to both the locks and mounts along with enough screws in case you wanted…
May I Have…This Dance
0In efforts to make Baby A laugh last week, I started dancing like a spastic maniac around my living room. In the middle of one of my weird arm-jerking moves, I pulled a muscle in my neck and shoulder. I feel like such a tool for even saying that, but I got nothing to hide. So yesterday morning I wake up and can’t move my neck left or right and I have numbness down my entire arm. I immediately call my sister who is a Physical Therapist and she broke the news to me that I most likely have a…
Child Proofing: My Arch Nemisis
0Now that Baby A is extremely mobile, she has pretty much said screw playing with toys and hello to her new friends the smelly garbage, my expensive pots and the stair case. Oh yeah, and every single cabinet in my house. It’s really fun. That only means one thing for me to do: time to baby proof. Kill me. In AntiMom fashion, I truly hate the way those child proofing contraptions look. Hanging all over the knobs and shit, looking all plastic-y. We spent good money on our house and furniture, now I have to crap it all up. UGH!…
A Toy Every Baby Should Have…
0After Christmas, Baby A’s toy collection has grown immensely. Shes obsessed with all of them, but mostly loves Violet, the stuffed bear by LeapFrog. That thing is awesome. You plug it into the computer and can personalize it to your baby’s name, favorite songs, foods, and animals. Its really cute how excited they get when they hear a song with their name in it. I know what your thinking, this is awfully similar to a cheesy mom post that I tend to stray from…but I’ve been feeling very sentimental these days thanks to the fact my lil 9 month old…
